Youth Program & Coffee Groups
C2 youth group
C2 means Communication 2 ways; New Zealand Sign Language and English. This group is for youth aged 12 years and up, giving them a special space, they can call their own, and try out some cool activities.
C2 often provides a series of sessions, so that youth can grow relationships and skills over an extended period of time. Offering a series of events, requires an increased level of funding, and spaces are capped.
C2 is reserved for deaf teen attendees, so they can develop independence and relationships with other deaf youth. We are unable to offer spaces to siblings for C2 events, however siblings are encouraged to come along to all other APODC events.
Examples of C2 activities:
- Horse Riding program
- Captioned movie night
- 6 weeks of ice-skating lessons
- Golf program delivered by PGA professionals
Coffee Groups
Coffee Groups are a chance for parents of children 12 years and under to meet together. Siblings are invited too! We try to find play spaces where kids can play happily and safely, whilst parents have an opportunity to talk.
